Emily Kobes is a Baltimore-based oil painter and illustrator specializing in the strange and fantastic. Born and raised in the Texas Hill-Country, she finds inspiration and magic in the outdoors, and many of the stories behind her work were found at the bottom of creek beds or underneath clumps of moss. When not painting, Emily can be found snoozing in the sun with her cat or hunched over a dye-pot, brewing up an array of mysterious and colorful fiber expiriments. Her work has been featured by the Adytum Collective as well in solo and group exhibitions at MICA.
